What is special about Vidalia onions?

  • Vidalia onions are a unique cultivar of the onion that is grown only in Vidalia, Georgia.
  • They have been cultivated since 1953 and they’re sweet so even people who don’t typically like onions might enjoy them.
  • The vidalia onion is sweeter for the lower amounts of sulfur in the soil that they are grown in.

  • Vidalia onions are sweeter than other onions.
  • They are perfect for making dips or topping off something like fish instead of using regular yellow onions that are much stronger tasting.
