Easy butter pecan cookies made with a butter pecan cake mix and just a few other ingredients. You won’t believe how easy these are! Each cookie dough ball is dipped in powdered sugar and pecan halve pressed in.

How to make Butter Pecan Cake Mix Cookies

Ingredients

  • Butter Pecan Cake Mix – This is the key ingredient for easy butter pecan cookies!
  • Vegetable Oil – You can use canola oil if that’s what you have on hand. You don’t want to use a flavored oil such as olive oil.
  • Eggs – 2 large eggs
  • Powdered sugar – The raw dough balls are rolled in powdered sugar.
  • Pecan Halves – You will need approximatlly 25 pecan halves. One pecan half is pressed into each dough ball after being rolled in powdered sugar.

Step-by-Step Directions:

Step One – In a medium bowl, use a spoon or spatula to mix together the dry butter pecan cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Mix until fully combined.

Step Two – Cover the mixing bowl and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 20-30 minutes until dough is firmer to work with.

Step Three – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a 1.5” cookie scoop to form about 25 cookies. Roll each ball of cookie dough in the powdered sugar.

Step Four – Place the powdered-sugar covered cookie dough on an ungreased cookie sheet. Gently press a pecan into the top of each cookie dough ball.

Step Five – Bake the cookies for 9-11 minutes. Allow them to cool for about 5 minutes after removing them from the oven, then transfer them to a cooling rack. Enjoy!

  • 15.25 oz. Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 25 Pecans
